Rules to Wrestling
There are three main types of wrestling: Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman. There are many rules to

Folkstyle

Folkstyle wrestling is most common in youth wrestling. It is very simple to understand. No locking hands unless both opponents are on their feet. When both of the shoulderblades hit the mat at the same you are considered pinned.
Points:
2 points= takedowns, reversals, 2-4 seconds of nearfall
3 points= 5+ seconds of nearfall
1 point= escape, penalties (locked hands and full nelsons)

Freestyle

Freestyle: Is involved in the olympics and is similar to folkstyle except for the points.
5 points= A throw when both of your opponents feet come way above the ground.
3 points= A throw with a little less distance between your opponents feet and the ground
1 point= When the opponent is taken them down and they land either on their side or stomach.
Objective= Win 2 of the three periods by tech falling your opponent with 9 points.

Greco-Roman

Greco-Roman: Different from both styles, because you can't use your oppenents legs to take them down. It is also in the olympics. It has the same scoring system as Freestyle, but you are not able to use your legs.
